Members of Parliament attended the 2nd Australia-Samoa Parliament Partnership Seminar yesterday at the Taumeasina Island Resort and this will conclude today 26th April.
The 2 day Seminar which is themed “Parliamentary Procedure- Members’ responsibilities and opportunities in the Chamber” is a series of Seminars under the auspices of the Australia-Samoa partnership for continuous capacity building of Members of Parliament and Parliament Secretariat. Yesterdays Seminar covered topics amongst others, the History of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Samoa and how business in the Chamber is organized.
Those facilitating the current Seminar series are: Mr. Harry Jenkins, Former Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives and staff of the Australian Parliament, Ms Catherine Cornish, Clerk Assistant, Procedure and Mr. Peter Banson, Clerk Assistant, Table.
