The Office of the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly participated in the Samoa Qualification Authority (SQA) National Career Day on 13th September 2016 at the Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi Conference Centre, Sogi.
The theme for this second Career Day by SQA is “Lifelong Learning”, emphasizing that learning is a lifetime activity which does not stop at any educational level in order to achieve career aspirations. The event allowed students from all colleges on island to visit and engage with various Government Ministries and SOE’s.
The Community Relations Services Division together with other OCLA staff attended this event, which goes in line with OCLA’s attempt to improve parliamentary awareness by conducting educational and engagement programmes, as well as participating in Open Days.
The Parliament booth not only offered students information about Parliament through pamphlets, booklets, videos and the Parliament Newspaper, the OCLA staff also offered advice on career paths for students. Students were rewarded with giveaways provided by the Office as souvenirs.
Students were appreciative of the information as well as gifts provided by the Parliament booth.
