Samoa’s Commitment to Anti-corruption

The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNDOC) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) under the ‘UN Pacific Regional Anti-Corruption’ (UNPRAC) Project conducted an integrity workshop for Members of Parliament to introduce the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), GOPAC and Parliamentary Oversight on the 11th November 2016 at the Taumeasina Island Resort.

In his introductory note, the Honorable Speaker of the Parliament of Samoa on behalf of the Prime Minister, formally declared that Samoa has begun the process of accession to the UN Convention against Corruption. A Working Group was immediately formed amongst Members of Parliament during the Workshop to ensure that Samoa’s accession to the Convention progresses.
